Fort Point is a national historic site at the edge of Golden Gate Bridge. The fort is open to the public 3 days a week for free Friday to Sunday 10am to 5pm. The fort was suppose to taken down but a special arch was built instead that goes over the fort in order to preserve it.

On Google Plus, Thomas Hawk has photowalks that he organizes for photographers/hobbyists/beginners to walk around and photograph together. This one was in downtown San Jose/SJSU. In general Photowalks are great to go out and shoot street photography and see what everyone else captures at the same locations. There are numerous reasons why one should attend a photowalk.
They are great for beginners who can learn a lot from the other photographers. For experienced photographers, it is also fun to mingle and network with other photographers.
On a photowalk, you can learn a lot of information from technical skills to helpful tips and tricks or things you just never would have learned elsewhere. You can ask others about their gear, equipment, camera, and maybe some people will be nice enough to let you try it out. It is also great for making new friends that have the same interests and when you go on future photowalks, it will be even better because you will be walking around with friends instead of just strangers.
In the off wedding season, its just great to be able to constantly shoot and keep your creativity and skills up. In addition to weddings, portraits, I plan to blog more of my street photography, photowalks, and traveling.
